Nov 22 – Mahon Park Ivy Pull

November 8, 2008

The Mahon Park Rehabilitation Project was initiated in 2001 to address the deterioration of the natural areas of Mahon Park. The 26 hectares of remnant forest suffered from stream bank erosion, invasive plants and the effects of intensive recreational use.

Time: 9am – 12pm

Where: Meet at the end of 15th St off of Forbes at the East side of Mahon Park

What: Removing the scourge of blackberry, clematis and ivy from behind the armory in preparation for tree planting on the February event.

Bring your grubbies and appropriate shoes. Tools, gloves and refreshments are provided.

We use the recyling depot near 2nd narrow bridge, but for people in North Vancouver without a car, or who don’t have the variety of recyclables we have, this might be quite handy.
