Glide along the calm headwaters of the Brunette River, stop by beaver lodges, spot Marsh Wren nests and listen to darting dragonflies.

Learn how beavers are important and the creatures they support.

Learn some of the more common songs of birds around Burnaby Lake.

This program is meant for those with no prior experience at birding by ear.

After, join Burnaby Lake Park Association volunteers at the Nature House for complimentary refreshments and to talk about the park’s natural history.

This is a family event with crafts available for children.

Join us at the season opening of Burnaby Lake Nature House. Take a guided walk with a park interpreter to learn about our spring avian visitors and to see some of summer’s first plants.

Visit displays or make a craft to take home; enjoy the view from the newly reconstructed viewing tower overlooking Burnaby Lake. Park and meet at the Nature House on Piper Avenue off Winston Street, or park at the Avalon Avenue lot and enjoy a half-hour walk to the Nature House.
