After, join Burnaby Lake Park Association volunteers at the Nature House for complimentary refreshments and to talk about the park’s natural history.

This is a family event with crafts available for children.

Meet at the Burnaby Lake Nature House, 4915 Piper Avenue, off Winston Street.

Join us at the season opening of Burnaby Lake Nature House. Take a guided walk with a park interpreter to learn about our spring avian visitors and to see some of summer’s first plants.

Visit displays or make a craft to take home; enjoy the view from the newly reconstructed viewing tower overlooking Burnaby Lake. Park and meet at the Nature House on Piper Avenue off Winston Street, or park at the Avalon Avenue lot and enjoy a half-hour walk to the Nature House.

If you’ve ever wanted to identify a bird by its song, now is your opportunity to have your ears tuned by a park interpreter. Learn some of the common songs of birds around Burnaby Lake in a friendly setting. This program is for those with no prior experience at birding by ear. Ages 13+ $4/child/youth/senior, $7.50/adult, $20/family
