Celebrate Heritage Apple Day with the Derby Reach/Brae Island Park Association.

Enjoy guided tours of the heritage orchard, sample different varieties of apples and talk with experts.

The visiting Royal Engineers will provide a glimpse into Derby’s past. Fiddlers from the Langley Community Music School will make you want to get up and dance! There will also be games and crafts for children.

Meet at the Heritage Area on Allard Crescent, north of 96th Avenue and 4-kilometres west of Fort Langley.

Oct 10 | Critter Capers – Who took my Burrow?

Use your detective skills to find out who stole the muskrat’s burrow.

Solve clues, examine tracks, scat and other evidence.

Was it the river otter, the snowshoe hare, or the mink? Allow at least one hour to complete the program.

Ages 6+ Free, registration not required.

As in past years, we take participants throughout the watershed to learn about the natural habitats used by different salmonids. ]

We will go to the hatchery to learn about how we work to manage and maintain the runs.

Please bring lunch and dress for the weather.

Sept 27| Fresh Air Hike: Ravine to Shaggy Mane Trail

This moderate hike will take you under fall maples and tall cedars, past old fields and through the wide flat bottom of the Little Campbell River.

Follow the rail bed of a narrow-gauge railway and see the Annand/ Rowlatt pioneer farmstead.

Pass historic Langley Speedway and enjoy panoramic views on the Shaggy Main Trail.

The Vancouver Public Library invites you to join us for one of Canada’s biggest annual book and magazine festivals.

Vancouver’s Word on the Street is back for its 15th year with another full day of indoor and outdoor author events, exhibits, performances, a marketplace, and all-round books and reading fun and frolic.
