Here’s an accurate thought: We’re not running out of food. Here’s a scary thought: David Tracey needs you to think so, in order to sell books.
My policy is to allow anonymous comments, but the person posting must provide a valid email address – even though I don’t publish that address. Touquer provided a fake address when posting comments and I’ve been unable to contact him/her.
It’s a bit difficult to enter into any kind of real conversation with people who refuse to own their words. However, for the sake of discussion, I’m posting touquer’s comments anyway, as I’m sure there are others who think our food supply is totally fine, just like those who believe global warming is a fiction. The problem with touquer‘s ‘accurate thought’ is that it isn’t actually based on fact, though I’m sure it is ‘accurate’ in his/her own mind.
And besides, David’s series of articles in TheTyee.ca, about which this interview is based, hardly seem aimed at fueling a stampede to buy his book.
Maybe we aren’t running out of food, as Touquer says, although on this one I would tend to trust the United Nations (which called a special meeting last year to discuss the shortage) and the thousands of hungry people all over the world who took to the streets to protest price hikes that could drive them into starvation.
But Touquer does raise a valid point: I do indeed have a book and it is for sale. He/she can buy or order Guerrilla Gardening: A Manualfesto at better bookstores everywhere.
Thanks for the plug.
Dear touquer,
I’ve made an executive decision not to publish your rebuttal to David’s reply to your comments.
Since you insist on providing a 2nd bogus email address, while protesting that the first had merely ‘expired’, I’m treating your comments as bogus.
