There’s a new anti-litter campaign organized by the District and City of North Vancouver.
Richard emailed VanGoGreen to let us know about this new info and volunteer campaign aimed at litter reduction and cleanups.
Says Richard:
A litter-free clean neighbourhood encourages and increases property values, and contributes to public safety and order which adds to a better quality of life and healthier environment.
We need to promote partnership, working together and individual responsibility to make this all happen. Will you help control litter where you live? Are you able to give a few hours once a week, once a month to make your area, your block, your street, litter free?
If you want to get involved, visit their web site, CanItNorthVan.com, and also spread the word.
From the web site, here are the goals of the campaign
- To foster community pride in litter free neighbourhoods.
- An organizing focus for litter pick-up campaigns.
- To spread the word that litter is bad for the environment, unfavorable for buisiness, a deterant for tourism, costly to the taxpayer, and anti-social in behavior.
